Homage to Rothko: Light, Color, and Sculptural Depth

In this extraordinary series of sculptures, Master Eros Raffael pays tribute to Mark Rothko, one of the monumental figures of Abstract Expressionism. The artist translates Rothko's iconic exploration of color—characterized by floating color fields, emotional vibrations, and glowing light—from two-dimensional canvas into the three-dimensional grandeur of Murano glass.

The Technique: Glass Casting as Chromatic Space

To capture the visual depth, subtle translucency, and rich texture reminiscent of Rothko’s paintings, Eros Raffael employs the complex technique of Glass Casting:

Dimensional Light: The substantial glass mass captures and encapsulates light within itself, making the color fields appear weightless and suspended within the material.

Emotional Depth: The soft transitions and internal gradients between glass hues shift dynamically in response to surrounding room illumination.

Every Piece is a Unique Artwork (1/1)

Due to the organic nature of high-temperature glass casting, every artwork in this series is an absolute ONE-OF-A-KIND piece (1/1). No two sculptures will ever exhibit the exact same color flow or light refraction. Acquiring a piece from this collection brings an exclusive, contemplative visual experience into any refined space.
